Consultant - Green and Economic Transition

Parallel to our continued growth, we are now seeking a Consultant , working at the exciting nexus of the twin Green and Digital transition.
Your workplace environment

You will join our 'Resilient Economies' team which consists of multi-cultural professional from around the world. Our team covers all continents and works across various markets EU and International Development. You will support policy makers and donors in the European and International spheres with practical research and advice to foster resilient and sustainable economies and societies. Examples of clients we work for include the European Commission (DG ENER, DG ENVI, DG CNECT, DG TRADE), the European Parliament, the World Bank Group, the IKEA foundation, and national governments.

What will you be doing?

As Consultant, you would be working with the team to support business development (positioning, proposal writing, as well as coordinating bids) and implementation of Technical Assistance projects and studies in relation to economic and twin transition (Green and economic) topics. You have sound knowledge of the European policy context and/or international development contexts. The core of your expertise is related to economics and project management in the field, and you are also able to contribute to studies in other EU and International policy areas.
Major tasks include:

  • Undertaking targeted business development and building relationships with clients to advance the company's profile and ability to help clients;
  • Support project managers in the smooth delivery of contracts, working closely with other project members to ensure that the contract is delivered successfully;
  • Managing/leading on providing effective project and client management, planning, and monitoring delivery to agreed timescales, ensuring quality, and liaising with experts, contractors, partners, associates, as well as with Ecorys corporate services on compliance, budgeting, and invoicing;
  • Managing and delivering small sized research studies;
  • Working on larger-scale, longer-term research, and evaluation projects, from work winning and inception to delivering the final report and dissemination;
  • Leading/providing high quality written inputs to reports, presentations, and other research and consultancy outputs.

What will you bring?

  • Master's degree in Economics or other relevant fields;
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in projects worth at least €80,000;
  • Knowledge on green transition, sustainable development topics and/or experience related to conducting studies/projects in the areas of eco-system analysis, impact assessments, evaluations, policy development, amongst others;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Financial acumen and client focus;
  • Sound problem solving and decision-making skills;
  • Highly motivated with strong communication and business development skills; and
  • Fluency in English. High level of Dutch is a plus.
